altered house album ( artzdescrap for april)

this is our mini album project for april's artzdescrap creation. we were given a blank house album and we were told to alter it using the same title HOME IS WHERE.... ( it's up to you).

i did scrapbooking and friends as my main idea here because i am so at home with it. i added lace, chipboards, flowers, stickers, fibers, buttons as accents.

babette ... one of my first friends in scrapbooking.

pinoyscrapbookers group during scrapmeet 2006.

nette was really an idol for me on my first step towards scrapbooking.

GNO nights are weekly nights i dont wanna miss! its like an outlet.. a get together and a breath of life.

sharing tutorials are fun... i love to do it in silencio.

eat and be merry. thats part of scrapbooking.

this month's challenge at artzdescrap focuses on mini albums... why not give it a try? compile your memories... be creative...its fun!

altered broken tiles

these are scraps from broken tiles which i got when we visited a tile shop.

i decided to make one of them into a PAPER WEIGHT...

gold leaf pen played a role here. i simply used it on all edges.

add some chipboard, rubons and lace... the background by the way, of course the ALCOHOL INKS... i used copper, pesto, butterscotch and espresso colors
you can also try chipped block marbles but be sure the edges are not that sharp.

Altered Ruler

This is my article for Scrapbytes March 2008 issue.

With this project, i used a "used" ruler from my kids' bags.

then turned it into...

this...

take a close look at the texture... the technique of heated pearls are used here.
i then stamped a phrase into the heated pearls. the distress ink applied on the wooden boat was still wet when i took a shot of it.

the KRYLON LEAFING PEN is a awesome addition to my distressing paraphernalia. you can do anything with it, outline, doodle...and it writes on any surface too!

for details on how i did this, pls. visit scrapbytes.

retreat

another creation with dove of the east kimono silk paper. i decided to cut the graphic paper and outlined with krylon leafing pen on one side. i made the journaling near this outlined edge to put emphasis on the bare area.

i also made use of TSUKINEKO WALNUT INK ANTIQUING SPRAY on the photo to focus on aetom. i just dab it with RANGER BLENDING FOAM.

other materials include: american craft felt flowers, SR sticker for the title and some metal charms....

Dove of the East

the first time i saw these lines of paper, i fell in love with the exotic and mystic feel... although i have not purchased the embellishments and ribbons, the paper itself served as a sort of stylish embellishment already.

DREAMER

see this cute ghost BIRD from HEIDIE SWAPP !!! so cool i decided to dab her with alcohol inks with copper mixative! some acrylic paints on the edges to outline and make it stand out... a rub of rub-ons too!

i also dab the edges of the paper with Radiant Rain.

=============================================================

FAR LOOK

materials: dove of the east papers; prima lace; CI epoxy stickers; FP felt; MR sheer notes; stickles;
i could not cut the paper because this is it... the whole paper served as the base already.. at least for me.

==================================================================

ORIENT

just see the paper! could you cut it? i would not . really...
i bought these papers from mitch sy. and these are good buys! it wont make your wallet wail but will make you create! i just can't help but to scrap these... ohhhh.

my new HP pavillon!

i got my new HP pavillon desktop with very good specs and lots of freebies!

this is my workspace... i have to relocate some stuffs to make way for this techie.

i just love this babe! i have enough memory now and a good speed to go with it too! and this hp w1907 19 inch lcd flat panel monitor is really a good combo.. i have to put the cpu ( good good specs plus windows vista too)... beneath the table for space saving purposes. look at the "creative" speaker... wheee! i feel like i'm inside a theater! nice audio! if you can catch this good buy, you can visit glorietta with their bpi madness promo up to march 9, 2008 ONLY!

tell you, i love vista!!! vista rocks!

AN UPDATE AND I AM SHOUTING: I SHOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS GOD! THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS. AFTER ONLY 2 WEEKS OF HAVING THIS, IT CRASHED. THE WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING, THE MONITOR STOPPED SENDING SIGNAL TO TO THE CPU AND EVERYTHING WENT GAGA! I CANNOT EVEN ACCESS THE NET BECAUSE THERE WAS NO STARTUP AND I AM BEATING DEADLINE. I LOST MANY SAVED IMAGES BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REFORMAT EVERYTHING. TOMORROW WE WILL HAVE TO BRING THE CPU AGAIN TO THE SHOP AND LETS WAIT FOR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. I HATE IT! REALLY HATE IT. I WISHED I HAD BOUGHT SOMETHING OTHER THAN THIS.. ! THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY. I THINK THIS IS FACTORY DEFECT. DONT BUY hp NEXT TIME. LESSON LEARNED.

update: HP replaced my unit with a new one. hopefully everything goes well.
