stamp an image on the egg.

there you have it. the altered stamped egg...

right now, this decorated egg is still inside my ref!

christmas tree wishlists

our mid tutorial at artzdescrap features Kim Faucher as the inspirational scrapper. she did this awesome sewing of christmas trees!! head on to artzdescrap for the complete guide.

since i was not able to sew anything, i just did some variations using american craft pattern paper and cutting those little trees! i also used the ribbon roll from crate paper, remember-- was about to throw it away!

the pumice gel medium from golden where i also painted with red acrylic from kaiser makes a good texture for the ribbon roll which is made of cardboard only. glass beads were also added for that glassy like look.

happy christmas to all. may all our wishlists come true!!

Wax Papered Tin Can

i am very excited to be part of the 12 days of christmas "DAY 11" featured blogger at scrapbook news and review online magazine. for this project, i created a tincan and made it look dreamy and vellumed using wax paper. i also used distressing technique for the wax paper with simple inking method. this is an easy project and makes a good christmas gift too! you can put cookies, candies, chocolates or even scrapbook stuffs inside. if not, a great storage is fun to keep for yourself! so, what are we waiting for? get your materials handy and start the project now.

materials you may need for the wax papered tin can:

wax paper
distress inks
embellishments
any tin can
paint
mask and applicator/blending foam
optional: beadazzles

how to:

1. first, get a piece of wax paper and measure as to cover the body of the whole can.

2. crumple the wax paper.

3. ink the wax paper and wrap around the tincan's body.

==========================================================

4. get the tin can's cover and paint.

==========================================================

5. get a mask and use blending foam and ink over the painted area of the cover.

===============================================================

6. you can add inks on the sides.

=================================================================

7. optional to use are bedazzles on your embellishments.

================================================================

8. decorate your tincan with metals, collage artsheets or anything fancy.

i just love the texture when you see it close up.

the lotus journey

have you ever been to chinese funerals? if you have, notice the yellow printed paper they have there. these are called the dead paper money. it is a belief that when a person dies, all the riches incurred here on earth will be brought with him.her to heaven using symbolic representations like paper money and paper houses.

my aunt leya died last year and it was here in the funeral parlor that this yellow paper money caught my attention. we would fold these into lotus-like origami then burn it in a black sooted can. the burning and smoke signify translocation and journey of one's soul into heaven. these imprints have prayers and through prayers, yes, the journey will bring the soul to eternity.

paper piecing

for the october issue of scrapbook news and review, i made use of the paper piecing technique using metals. here, those supposed- to-be-thrown-away metal clips you find when you buy shirts are really great accessories! hope you don't throw them away and instead, make use of them on your cards! they are fun!

oh so sweet

the challenge here at journaling junkie is to document the negative.
Journal not only about the positives - document a negative aspect of someone, somewhere or something that you love dearly.
