altered love tin

this altered love tin was featured at the ready set create e-zine last april 8, 2008.

i used the ff:

small tin can with cover ( pastilles can from bangkok) supposedly to be thrown away; glaze paints from MM ruby red.

just coat or paint the tin can. i did not sand anymore and so i had a hard time gliding the glaze to solid color.

for the base, i also used MM glaze amethyst. same concept, paint in many coatings.

after coating the base with glaze, let dry and spray with radiant rain.

apply crackle paint on the cover. my fave!

order of crackle.

for the final process, i stamped on the prima flower to add texture and effects . inking the flower seems like a good idea too!

cut 4 pieces of patterned cs into circles. attach chipboard letters L O V E on each circle. you can stickle the edges of the circles to add sparkle.

dab your cs with radiant rain on the other side of it and write your thoughts on love based on each letter.
enjoy! you can also use square tin cans with square cardstocks.
thanks for reading!

my kids

i would love to share with you about masking effect using heidie swapp masks and blending foams using distress inks.

aside from masking technique, i also used the heat embossing technique with glitters. the stamping up heat and stick is a must for the glitter lover scrapper.

emboss ( using embossing pen ) with the heat and stick. add glitter and heat set it.

this is the finished layout for kaya 12 challenge at the pinoyscrapbookers blog.

under the...

under the...

stairs. i took this pic with adriel under the stairs. i saw the potential of him having a good pose and so scrapper-mommy grabbed the camera at once...

i used the studio azul kit ( april's going postal) and added some simple embellishments. i also altered the MR people keychain ( only the guy ) using rangers crackle paint and misted it with radiant rain ( solar gold). i also used stamps, rubons and the best part here is that i used the fabric sticker from 7gypsies and made a journaling strip out of it.

by the way, this is my take on scrap/inspire/create's challenge no.1 {i often scrap about}.

had fun with it.

tagging my nooky nook

i call this my nook. my small working place. the place i love to stay when im at home. i love this place more than the kitchen and anywhere in the house. i love to place things within reach and so i have to sort those i think i would be using often near me like the inks, chipboard letters, buttons, flowers, embossing powders, some stamps and embellishments.

i keep those medium-ly used beneath the table and my other cabinet ( magazines ) with boxes labeled too. gee i really love boxes!!! the stickers, rubons and thickers are placed near my feet for instant gratification.

such small space not a room but a nook for me to open up my passion and creativity. i am glad i'm a person who can squeeze in small spaces when making a layout but i can be messy too!

i dont have a room for scrapbooking and people used to ask me where i get those ideas... i should say i draw inspiration from the things i see around me. just look at my nook-- i am oh so surrounded by scrap stuffs that they serve as my inspiration somehow. but you know, i tend to stare at the walls sometimes and a good bite of idea would sprout.

that's about it. a small space but im happy with my corner... my favorite place...

i guess size doesn't matter when it comes only to scrapbooking. lol.

AND SO I AM TAGGING THE FOLLOWING SCRAPPERS TO TAKE A PIC OF THEIR WORKPLACE ( remember it doesnt have to be a big area).. just your working area. okay?

if you want to see their areas, just visit their blogs.

arte y pico award

Thanks so much to LEA SANDERS for thinking of me when she “included me in her 5″ when bestowing the Arte y Pico Award.

Here is the scoop:

1) Select 5 blogs who deserve the award for their creativity, interest and design and their contribution to the blogging community irrespective of language.
2) Each award must name the author and a link to their blog so that others may visit their blog.
3) Each award winner must show the award and put the name and link of the person they received it from.
4) The award winner and the person who awarded it must show a link to the “Arte Y Pico” blog so that others will know the origin of the award.
So, who to choose-who to choose? There are so many talented artists out there in blog land all over the world, it really is hard to choose! Here are “my 5″. =)

1. nina - ( manila, philippines) -- i adore her blog because of informative tidbits not only scrapbooking but current scoops and life just about everything.

2. felicia ( singapore ) - creations by this university student is awesome! browse through her altered art and layouts! she never runs out of ideas.. great works of art, co-dt for artzdescrap.

3. christine v. ( manila, philippines) -- a really great scrapper who has lots of great designs on her mind. she never fails to amaze all of us with her racing and superb layouts.

4. jasmin - ( brunei) -- layouts which are fresh and lots of techniques to boast. her unique layouts are surely standouts!

5. joanne yap ( australia ) - pioneer in scrapbooking industry in the philippines but sought greener life in aussie. this lady's blog opens a lot of possibilities with her extremely gorgeous layouts!

i have lots of beautiful blogs to mention but i can only name 5...

thank you for the inspiration girls!!!!

what i see

this is a layout i did for scrappinkids' april's unik challenge...

materials: jb black bird paper; daisy d rub ons; whispers and le plume markers; sepia accents; maya road micro felt birds & note cards; hambly rubons; metal clip; fibers

i altered the photo using krylon leaf pen; i also bleached it with bleaching pen though not so visible after which i used MM glitter glaze to add that shimmery effect.

i also used sepia accents on aedan's hair and added a rubon crown.

i also colored the flowers with markers and doodled with black pen then again, i accented it with sepia accents to add dimension.

i scrapped aedan's picture because i believe his uniqueness lies on his courage and ability to see the world even if he has his lens transplanted. though he is on glasses right now because he needs to and sometimes its so hard to let him wear it, but i think in his heart, he understood it. he knows it is for his advantage. i thank god for giving him a saved vision even if not a perfect one anymore.

altered wooden caddy

this is my entry to lasting impression's cosmo cricket challenge. i decided to alter the wooden caddy i found in dapitan arcade. you know this caddy was at first peek, a dirt by the sidewalk.. i found this tabi tabi with those junks. but then, i saw beauty in it and i saw productivity. and not knowing what to do with it at first, i just hurdled at the thought that i hope this wont stay long at my house naked... know how much this cost? i bought it for 35 pesos only.

but tell you, i have to measure 8 sides.. trace and cut.. in a precise measurement.

i saw some metal spools over at nbs and my my! something strike me and so the pack of spools never left my hands anymore.

love to crack? i do!

this ball chain with the metal spool looks so neat!
